Dimbola Lodge Freshwater Bay home to Julia Margaret Cameron.At the ages of 48, she received a camera from her daughter and son in-law as a birthday gift. Little did she and her family suspect that it would make the beginning of a celebrated artistic career. She took up residence on the Isle of Wight at Freshwater Bay at Dimbola Lodge. Some of her famous subjects include Charles Darwin, Henry W. Longfellow, Robert Browning & Thomas Carlyle. C.
